A MESSAGE FROM A COVID PATIENT WHO WAS NOT VACCINATED
We observed higher SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels in previously infected individuals after 1 dose of BNT162b2 [Pfizer} compared with infection-naive individuals after 2 doses. Importantly, in previously infected individuals with positive SARS-CoV-2 spike IgG levels, the second dose did not significantly increase IgG levels compared with the first dose, suggesting that 1 dose may be acceptable in this group….However, it is important to note that a positive PCR diagnosis alone was not enough to discount the need for a second vaccine dose. In 4 participants who reported a positive PCR, but did not develop S-protein antibodies, the response to the first vaccine dose was more similar to that of the infection-naive group. Furthermore, these results highlight that even in previously infected individuals, baseline serological testing should be performed prior to deciding whether to forego a second vaccine dose…
This study highlights the potential for recommending a single dose for previously infected individuals and may be useful for discussions surrounding vaccination strategy. …”
(J. Harris: So if you’ve had Covid, one jab of a Vaccine should be adequate for a great antibody response and protection. Rare patients who have had (or think they have had Covid) need two jabs, so if possible do a PCR test on this type of patient before giving them a booster — which might be difficult to do in some environments.)

A Note about Milton (s), my favorite tomato (s) who was replanted after a viscous hog attack: Yesterday, I was pulling up burnt up, used up indeterminant tomato plants in my garden. Milton (s) with his multiple stalks still has 3 tomatoes left. I have one I picked in the house. None are ripe yet and are small. These four little tomatoes were all he (they) produced. Now, almost all of his big Celebrity buddies have played out and are gone after great tomato production, all summer.
“Boss Man, ” he said, “thank you for your kind and tender care. I know I didn’t produce much, but lean over so I can give you some important advice.’
I leaned over, and he whispered… “Rosebud.”
“What? ” I asked and got down on one knee so as to hear better.
“Plastics” he said with a chuckle.
“Milton, you’re a mess and not really all that funny,” I replied.
“OKRA!” he said, that’s the tip I want to give you. Stick with growing OKRA. Anybody — even you — can grow OKRA.”
My Norwegian housekeeper has suggested that I not get so attached to my tomatoes after this. As usual, she’s probably right.
