APRIL 23 HARRIS MAILOUT
THANK YOU ETBU and DR. BLAIR BLACKBURN
Tell your friends, neighbors, employees, church congregation, the lady at the store, relatives, ETBU IS GOING TO HELP THE STATE AND NATIONAL GUARD PROVIDE A LOCAL WALK IN IMMUNIZATION CLINIC. Hallelujah. This area will have a walk-in immunization clinic with no reservation, no computer or phone required. Area groups will be able to assist their less mobile family members, friends, and groups with immunization. Computer-challenged folks and those without Wi-Fi access or with language problems can still get vaccinated. Getting folks vaccinated should be as simple a driving them to the ETBU Gym, walking or rolling them in with assistance if needed, getting a medically supervised injection, waiting 15 minutes, and then taking them home with arrangements made for a booster in 3-4 weeks. I would think that small buses or vans might be available from government entities, businesses, or individuals. Spanish speaking volunteers should be available to help the project as well and proof of citizenship or green card won’t be necessary. Let’s not waste any vaccine.
Map included. If you are at least 16 and show up, you can get vaccinated with the Pfizer Vaccine which probably has fewer side effects than most current vaccines.
J. Harris, MD

Subject: Free Pfizer COVID Vaccine Clinic on ETBU Campus | April 27-29, 2021
To: Blair Blackburn
In conjunction with the Texas Division of Emergency Management, I am pleased to inform you that East Texas Baptist University is offering a free COVID vaccine clinic on the ETBU campus in the Dean Healthplex on Tuesday (April 27), Wednesday (April 28), and Thursday (April 29) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines will be distributed, while daily supplies last. This vaccine clinic is open to the public. In an effort to make the clinic more accessible to our Marshall and Harrison County residents who are 16 years of age or older, there is no registration process, so walk ups are welcome to come to ETBU for vaccination. With special emphasis on saving our seniors, those 65 and older will be given a Fast Pass to receive priority vaccination.
Attached is a promotional flier and ETBU campus map with directions to the Pfizer vaccination clinic to be held at the Dean Healthplex.
While it feels that we are finally winning the battle against the spread of the coronavirus, I believe that healthy practices, overcoming coronavirus infection, and vaccinations community-wide are working to bring us to a level of herd immunity protection.
Please promote to members of our Marshall and Harrison County communities the free COVID vaccine clinic on ETBU’s campus next Tuesday (April 27), Wednesday (April 28), and Thursday (April 29) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
