On Thursday, December 3rd, we dipped below 15% COVID patient hospitalizations and have remained below 15% through yesterday. You’ll recall that if we remained over 15% COVID hospitalizations for over 7 days our businesses would have to reduce capacity from 75% down to 50% plus elective surgeries would be eliminated. This is for our Region G which includes 19 of our neighboring counties. The good news is that our businesses can continue on as they have been. We, however, must continue to be wise and do our best to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Thanks for all your past efforts, let’s keep it up Harrison County!

The governor of South Dakota, KRISTI NOEM, is a TWIT.
I bring this up because I am old and not likely to be around when this ignorant, pathologically ambitious woman eventually runs for President of the United States. If you are still alive when she runs, please oppose her. She,in her arrogance and stupidity, has been responsible for hundredS, if not thousands of preventable deaths from Covid-19. (Think Political and Motorcycle Rallies)
I know South Dakota well and have hunted all over the state and visited virtually every little town in the beautiful countryside with my late father in law, Bob Swift. The people are friendly, generous, intelligent and hardworking, almost to a fault. Then and now, I feel at home with South Dakota folks; in many ways they remind me of Texans. I almost settled there.

1. Symptoms and Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 Among Children — Utah and Wisconsin, March–May 2020 (Pediatrics) Among 58 households, 188 contacts were enrolled (120 adults; 68 children). Secondary infection rates for adults (30%) and children (28%) were similar. Among households with potential for transmission from children, child-to-adult transmission may have occurred in 2 of 10 (20%), and child-to-child transmission may have occurred in 1 of 6 (17%). Children and adults had similar secondary infection rates, but children generally had less frequent and severe symptoms. In two states early in the pandemic, we observed possible transmission from children in approximately one-fifth of households with potential to observe such transmission patterns.
2. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Outbreak Related to a Nightclub, Germany, 2020
We report an outbreak of coronavirus disease with 74 cases related to a nightclub in Germany in March 2020. Staff members were particularly affected (attack rate 56%) and likely caused sustained viral transmission after an event at the club. This outbreak illustrates the potential for superspreader events and corroborates current club closures.
