Herd Immunity? Or ‘Mass Murder’?
By John M. Barry
Mr. Barry is the author of “The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History.”(J. Harris: Barry’s book about Influenza you have seen me mention here. It could have been published yesterday; it’s so relevant to the current pandemic. The above article is an opinion piece, but he’s not a newspaper politician. He’s a good writer. His book about the Mississippi flood in 1927 is also a classic, but not as good as The Great Influenza.
Below is the conclusion to a cardiac article from German mentioned above by Barry. We also saw this article when it came out in the summer. It showed heart abnormalities after Covid in ordinary previously healthy folks.)
“Conclusions and Relevance In this study of a cohort of German patients recently recovered from COVID-19 infection, CMR revealed cardiac involvement in 78 patients (78%) and ongoing myocardial inflammation in 60 patients (60%), independent of preexisting conditions, severity and overall course of the acute illness, and time from the original diagnosis. These findings indicate the need for ongoing investigation of the long-term cardiovascular consequences of Covid.”
FROM JOHNS HOPKINS WEB PAGE:. A. The Effect of Temperature and Humidity on the Stability of SARS-CoV-2 and Other Enveloped Viruses (BioRxiv) Our results highlight scenarios of particular transmission risk, and provide a mechanistic explanation for observed superspreading events in cool indoor environments such as food processing plants. (J. Harris: TITUS COUNTY SPECIAL. So Covid and some other viruses grow and survive better in a cooler environment — and winter is upon us)

C. Britain to infect healthy volunteers with coronavirus in vaccine challenge trials
” British scientists are about to embark on the world’s first vaccine challenge trials, in which people will be deliberately infected with the coronavirus. A few dozen volunteers will have a purified, laboratory-grown strain of the live virus blown into their noses, while quarantined in a 22-bed biosecure unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London, where they will undergo daily, even hourly, tests over two to three weeks,” our World desk wrote. Scientists hope the strategy will shave months off vaccine development time, but some of their peers in the United States think the risk may be too great.”
