Titus County recorded 31 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the county’s total to 495. The cases include testing done at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center and Pilgrim’s chicken processing plant.
With the understanding of this large per capita case count, I can’t understand why we don’t have more support for masking, social distancing and general respect for our fellow citizens. Schools, churches, retail, restaurants and businesses continue to struggle daily wondering what to do and waiting for a downturn,” (Judge)Lee said. “Let’s get this virus knocked out so we can stop living in uncertainty. The vast majority of us clearly do not fear this virus, but we are the ones that need to help calm those that do.”
Today, for the first time, I really studied the information provided by the STATE of TEXAS. This site covers just about any number you want to know about COVID in Texas. I found it helpful for me to evaluate Harrison County statistics and to compare our county to the rest of the state. At this point, it looks to me like we are maintaining a low disease profile and that our shut down and caution may have been very helpful. Our “favorable trend” will keep me cautiously wearing my mask and sometimes gloves. Older people with medical conditions should, in my opinion, and the best medical opinions and data that I can find, continue sheltering, mostly at home and continue to avoid crowds, especially indoors.
By following the data in the above counts, we should be able to detect increases in local disease patterns, if and when they come, associated with Memorial Day activities, and opening up the businesses in town. Studying the data above, really cheered me up today. Take you time, you don’t have to be a statistician to understand most of the information. ( I’m terrible with numbers). You will not be graded. And, today’s pun is fabulous!
Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says, ‘I’ve lost my electron.’ The other says , ‘Are you sure?’
The first replies, ‘Yes, I’m positive.’
